In all the MMOs that I've played there is an inherent rule that everyone is a male or gay until proven otherwise. I have always played a female character and make them really cute no matter what (like 20% slutty sometimes) and just due to the way most people type you can always know that they are male. If they type feminine then they are mostly gay and if they are adamant that they are a girl then it is most likely a tranny or one of those mental people who think they are a girl like Jazz.
You'd honestly really have to even know they are a girl by going on disagreement with them for raids and stuff. Then and only then will you truly know if it is a real girl or not. And most of the time those girls are actually old married women with nothing to do because they don't have kids. The other type of female you get is the really fat ones that play video games all day and have mental problems like they don't go out and such and think their life sucks.
Only like 2% of MMO gamers are really female. Everything else is a lie.

That's because it's just an excuse. The reason people play females is because they are more appealing to the eye. Asking why not play male characters is like asking "Why do you hang fine art on your walls, instead of crude macaroni art? Are you gay or something?" If I had to chose between a piggu female character and a visually appealing male character, I'd play the male. But since most games have roughly equal quality for both male and female, I play the female because I prefer the female form to the male form. It's that simple.
