Playing right this moment. Would not recommend picking up right this moment as it's currently in what can be called a public beta, so avoid till all the DLC and shit come out and the bugfixes and QOL stuff is in. Course, you're gonna have Sawyer turn the combat from hilariously broken to old people broth, but that comes with the territory. That being said, it's essentially a $CURRENT_YEAR version of Sword of Zehir, with a shitload of emphasis on factions to the detriment of the main storyline and just eh everything else. Highlight of the game is the city, which had a lot of work put into it. Ship combat is fucked, tons of CYOA segments, EXTREMELY ANNOYING voice acting, so on and so forth. Definitely pirate, just cause this game's justifiably underperforming in sales.

if you play as a women there's no straight love interest option. NPC's will also talk about muh sexuality with you at random. Combat is still bland as fuck, but not as bad as the first game. Pirate it

Everything wrong with the first game is wrong with this game. That includes Might being the God Stat for everything, and the Purple Prose people are talking about. I don't know where people are getting the idea that it's better than the first game.

I liked the first game a lot despite the objective issues with it and this is even more shit than it.

I loved it, it's my GOTY. The difficulty is the main thing that needs tuning. I really don't know why so many people want to hate PoE, it makes me sad. But I only started playing CRPGs in the last few years and didn't have any expectations when I first played it, even though I made sure to play BG 1 and 2 beforehand.

The only thing worth noticing is multiclass. You can do sick combo with it and solo almost anything (read: AoE OHK) if your build is clever enough. A good lol, but otherwise. Others are shit. Main story is utterly shit, it is pozzed and your companions want to hump you 3 days after first meeting you, etc.
