Something was always off about the treatment that game got because, unlike DmC, no one was defending that game. None of the people developing the game defended it, Capcom didn't defend it, none of the journos were defending it.
It's one of the reasons I want to get to playing it sometime because something about this picture doesn't seem right at all. Than, and there's also the fact that E.X. Troopers came out a year earlier, and Capcom was doing their damnedest to prevent that game from receiving any attention, nor see the light of day, in the West.

I get the feeling that LP3 was made to be led to the slaughter, or at least changed to that at some point in development. I recall hearing that people had been noting how much of the game had obviously been cut out of it, including apparent missing mechanics and open world maps, but that's hard to find now because no one gives a shit to record anything about it. It doesn't even have a TCRF page.
Reminds me a lot of Homefront 2, you could almost smell when the suits put that mess down and forced it out onto stores as is.

I highly doubt it'll be a drastic venture from the last games, considering that the HD version was received well. Itsuno has a good track record too, he's one of the few experienced leads Capcom has. Same thing with the Monster Hunter team, which have been doing their thing for a decade without much meddling from the suit's side.
I'm sure Capcom still has a lot of talent left, I think they just get fucked over by insanely short dev cycles. I'd really just like them to get their shit together.

For what used to be a industry giant, the only new thing they listed is MM11. The schedule had no slots for surprises or anything so if DMC5 will really be a thing, it may be on Sony's part.
