Garry's mod is a great game to dick around in. You don't need to forward ports, you don't often need to download to much, and it's an easy way to have people doing whatever they want. Everyone seems to have it - or they've at least played it. If anything, it's pretty cheap otherwise. It's a tiny download, and the addons are heavier than the game.
So, let's play some Gaymod. I've got a little plan for what we'd be doing, and getting into the game/server isn't hard one bit. The collection we'll be using is simple - but a teensy bit heavy. Things like Wiremod are going to be left out to prevent too much cancer.
The listen (p2p) server will be hosted at 68.229.6.179, on Saturday (tomorow), starting at Noon PST. Nothing major is going to start until around 5PM, but people should be around to build shit, watch shit, shoot shit, drive shit, fly shit.

This is the collection. To make sure you've downloaded absolutely everything 100% correctly, restart Gmod twice after downloading. Subscribe to everything. Having Counterstrike will help with errors and missing textures, but most of the content should be self contained. Nothing should require ep2. If it does - I'll see missing textures/errors.

Download the content. That's it. Your model/texture detail should be set to high. Some things just require it.

Go to your subscribed addons, and click unsubscribe from all. Then, completely delete your Gmod installation folder. All of it. 100%. This makes it so that you have a perfect, clean install. No fuckups. Then, just subscribe to the pack. This ASSURES that you have NOTHING but the server's content. If you still have errors - man - it works on my machine.
If you don't have CS:S for some reason, the content CAN be acquired somewhat easily for free on the workshop (Find it yourself,) or through this website. It's greasy, but it does work. Just drop the folder into your addons folder. http://kajar9.wixsite.com/cscheater2/downloads

I have high-mid performance maps specifically for racing. We'll spawn/customize cars, make our own wacky vehicles, and race. This'll probably be what we do the most. Simfphys is really fucking good. Submaterial is good. Drifting is fun. We have an ae86.
There are some good maps for shooting shit, both eachother and NPCs. They're not great, but some classics include edgy columbine, apartment defense, and shit like that. The minigame helper addon will help us do cool shit. This is the weakest portion, but we're still going to do some of it. Cw2.0/FA:S is too heavy, so we're going to be using M9K. There's bound to be a gun you like in there, somewhere.
There are even more top-tier maps for exploration, they're a little barren in my opinion, usually being too closed-off for building anything other than decorations, but they're still really fun to people who haven't seen them. Nipper.

Honestly? Nothing. If I have to ban someone, it's probably their fault. Rules should be minimal, and that's how this'll go down. If someone asks you to leave them alone, just leave them alone. Don't brick people's shit. If you think you might not make friends doing a thing - don't do the thing. Rules don't apply to anyone who isn't from the bread. All forms of cancer are 100% beaned.
The only "dumb" rules I have to bring up are also common sense. Don't spam shit. Don't try to crash the server, try not to make a million addon requests "because its so guddd!!!", and have fun.
