japanese and western AA and indie games
if you want specifics I suppose any Falcom game is worth my shekels aside from the american (((localized))) version of Ys VIII, nippon copy would still be worth it.
Platinum games are usually worth it.
Sega games that don't have denuvo are worth it more often than not (excluding sonic titles)
Atlus games are worth it aside from maybe nu-SMT and the last few remakes which even with all its flaws are still passable games that are still arguably worth money
There's countless indies like Team Cherry, Studio MDHR, D-pad studios, and indies who get published by Devolver and whatnot
pre-2010 Intelligent Systems games are worth buying
Pre-2005 Blizzard games are worth money but don't give any of it to Blizzard. They came with some pretty sweet game manuals and covers and shit back in the day

Do you live in PAL? I'm just asking since from what I recall, Symphony of the Night wound up getting really shortprinted out there while in NA it got a Greatest Hits print, resulting in a difference in prices for a while that was like $25USD to $80+ worth in euros. Though, it seems to have gone up again in the last year even out here in the US (last one I saw was a good $60), perhaps due to increased interest due to Bloodstained; I don't know. Granted, that's aftermarket and the devs obviously don't see money on it at this point, and while there is a PSN version (not for the PS4 though; no PS1 store on it), you're right that modern Konami a shit. Also paying for digital goods.

Here's my criteria for games worth buying:
1. The game has to be finished and come with all content on the disc. It's okay if it gets updates but it has to be a perfectly playable game on release. Or the GOTY/Ultimate or whatever edition has to be so if there is one.
2. It's not a multifag game. If it's online dependent it's almost never worth buying, let alone worth owning.
3. The devs can't be liberal hipsters/jews that want all white people dead.
If you just stick to this you instantly know which game are worth buying and not.
