Start with shapes and values, don't even bother with colors right now. After that you'll find yourself moving towards perspective and anatomy naturally.
Getting yourself away from the likes of Symbol Drawing and premature "style" will already improve your shit immensely.
If you're not into books, check out youtube channels like Poko, New Masters Academy, Sycra, Scott Robertson and many more. You'll come across them once you just start with one.

While directly tracing will only give you slow progress, using 3d models as a reference to understand depth or aid in construction is a sound idea. It'd be better if you drew from reality as well. Try and figure out the simple shapes that make up complex forms. Break things apart into cubes and cylinders. Think with depth, and not just the surface level illusion of depth.

Drawing what you think you are seeing rather than what you are seeing.
Imagine you are drawing an eye and you make it a circle with thick lines and the lids with equally thick lines. It's all a mess of lines when in reality there is no lines separating the eyeball from the lids, only contrasts of values achieved with shading.
