The setting is interesting, at least. It's weird west and the poster boy is meant to be an off-brand Jonah Hex, who's the archetypal protagonist for this sort of thing.

I really enjoy the story of the game, and the gameplay is fun enough to keep me interested. I literally found it in a bin and remembered it being talked about here, so I decided to buy it as it was pretty cheap. It's worth a pirate at least from what I've played is as for now. I managed to play through two campaings, the first one and the inventor one, I tried to play the rest but I'm too tired to do so as for right now, and keep dying like a fucking idiot, so I'll probably try tommorow. It's not a masterpiece but it's definitely a fun game, the only problem that it seems to be pretty buggy, nothing that halted my progress so far, but some of the screens refused to show unless I reloaded the save, and the game kept freezing at certain points.

I have not beaten Darkwood yet, only trying the game out but it was pretty fucking spooky.

I can agree with this. Slavs and Europoors as a whole don't seem to know how to actually design games, at best can copy others and on average just slap together shit without understanding the theories behind game design, are often "experimental" (read: bad) and often have the most pretentious and simultaneously forgiving fanatics who praise them.

OP how long have you actually played this for? Your choices hardly matter at all. This game is garbage, there's some really cheap shallow gimmick slapped on to each scenario while choices and progression don't carry on to the next scenario.

I'm aware that the choices don't matter in the next scenario, but I thought they were supposed to give you gameplay benefits or hinder you if you pick the bad option in the scenario you are playing currently. I never thought of the game as an interactive story.
