Bloodstained is alright. I don't know why I can't pause the game or quit without alt+f4, and the controls are always explained with controller buttons when I'm using a keyboard and mouse.

Wizard of Legend is about 250MB. Same vein as Rogue Legacy with its procedural generation, but you can pick your initial loadout of abilities from stuff you've collected and get more in the dungeons.

I actually have it and liked it for what it is, a really shitty attempt to have Harvest Moon/Rune Factory on PC with a lot of things done wrong. Haven't tried the Multiplayer update, though. Also, I liked the teacher girl.

Do you have any genres you prefer? FTL and Shovel Knight aren't very similar except just being small games. Do you like every kind of game that is fun?

X-Com: UFO Defense, along with OpenXcom (Both required), will last quite a while if you get into it pretty well, and there are some pretty extensive, borderline autistic mods out there for it. X-Piratez will frustrate you with how poorly it is made but it's pretty extensive, while Xeno Operations will frustrate you with how incomplete it is but it is very well-made.

When I was younger and played games on a Celeron processor with an MX4000 for graphics attached to a dial-up model (late 1990s/early 2000s), I played a lot of Warcraft 3 maps and X-Com games (especially X-Com: Apocalypse in this particular era). Cook, Serve, Delicious! is a game from a guy who made a similar, very unpolished game called Ore No Ryomi that I played on said toaster more than I care to admit, and if you're into that sort of thing, it can be fun. If you like city builders, Northland is a lot like Settlers 3. Operation: Inner Space is yet another game I'm embarassed to think about how much I've played. I'd recommend Ultima 4 and Ultima 5 if you feel like playing an RPG, as those are some games you can sink some time into.

Honestly, back in the mid 90s, I mostly pulled games from some "5000 Good Games" disk that I got from Walmart for 5 dollars. I'd come home from school and just go through a few games a day. I had so much fun that for my birthday, I went back to get another disk called "500 Great Games". I remember the first disk was in a yellow case and the second one was bluish-teal. I wish I still had those. Games varied from dungeon crawlers to mech mazes to Scorched Earth to a Santa Slayer dos game that I don't think exists anymore. I'm certain the modern versions of those types of disks are just filled with fruit ninja/farmville/slot machine clones.

If you're looking for something more modern, try Kero Blaster. It's from the same guy who made Cave Story. Axiom Verge was recommended earlier, and it's highly worth it. I'd also recommend Environmental Station Alpha, which is another metroid-like game.

I felt that Mother 3 did something great in being interesting for the same length as the mechanics remained interesting. Basically when you're done learning how everything works and brings it all together everything gets wrapped up neatly.

I've been playing STRAFE a lot recently and it's pretty nice. Good for just a bit of mindless FPS bullshit. There's also Immaterial and Missing Power, the 2hu fighting game. It's weird mixing bullet hell and fightan but it kind of works. Can't read moonrunes, but I feel like there's a translation I've somehow completely missed.

I had gotten it as a joke, but it's pretty decent. Not great, not terrible. Strictly middle of the road.

Grab it if it goes on sale (can early access games go on sale) or wait until it's more fleshed out.

N++, I think it's like half a gig to download, though you have to be persistent since there's quite some easy levels at the beginning (duh).

Skyrim. Really small, enjoyable in how terrible it is.
