Had some of the strangest levels in the game. Probably the only levels where I'm hesitant to say I truly loved them.
The world itself is comfy as shit, though. Always ominous though, cause despite being the third overworld, it always just seemed like the very end of the game, since Ripto was right there and I always had enough orbs to immediately go to him, even if I never did.

Most of them are really solid. The ones I'd recommend are phantasia (PS1), eternia (PSP) and vesperia (PS3). While the snes version of phantasia has a certain charm, and is probably the one I've played the most; I recognize that the PS1 version is better. The one I wouldn't recommend, is legendia, made by a different team. I also heard that either tales of the tempest or tales of hearts is considered pretty bad.

I wouldn't recommend Tales of Hearts, and I have heard Zestiria is terrible. I've even heard tales fanboys trash that game. Tales of Beseria is decent, but the combat needs a bit more thought put into it to make it good, and the story is a weird mix. Good cast of characters, but the plot, and the fact it ties into Zestiria weigh it down. It also comes off as very rushed. I spent a good fifty hours on it, still missed a fair bit of stuff, and it felt like I was only in the first part of the game.

Was it really terrible or just kinda bland? Wasn't one reason that everyone including the nips hated it that they cut out one important companion and sold her as a on disc dlc?

Her leaving the party is apparently predictable since she can't fuse in a game where the main gimmick is fusing. Still a shitty move, and is wasted effort, I thought. I think that was the main complaint, but again, I've only heard, and the second hand exposure from Beseria doesn't give me confidence in it. For example, for exorcists to make a contract with malaks/seraphs, they need a pure heart, or else the malak/seraph will turn into a dragon and those fuckers are strong. This was fucked with in Beseria as the main villains are exorcists and they manage to weasel their way out of that clause via obsession to the point of madness being a kind of "purity." However, since Beseria mostly just fucks with what Zestiria brought to the table, that tells me a bit about how things work in Zestiria.

The Long Dark. Beautiful sound design, a nice overall visual style, and an actually challenging gameplay system.
Problems: 1. autistic retarded leftist real story part of the game which isn't finished and likely never will be 2. the free roam is infinite but the supplies aren't, which means you always lose, every single time, without fail, and there's nothing you can do about it. PLAY THE CHALLENGES, because they actually have end-dates and are the only parts of the game with the potential for victory.

>Why is there no Simo Hayha game yet?
Because Simo Hayha famously only used the iron sights on his rifle. So if you made a game based on him you'd have to include a scope and deal with historical accuracy autists or be true to history and have it be a very, very difficult game as a result (and deal with "It's too hard!" autists instead).

At one point in the game where you first go on the outside of the ship the map loaded me in noclip mode with AI turned off so I was flying around the map unable to go back to normal. The game also has horrendous performance regardless of your hardware because it has no multicore support and only runs on a single core. The PhysX implementation also isn't very attractive making water look like gelatin rather than water. It's very gimmicky in that regard. When it's all working the game itself isn't very challenging because despite coming off like a deliberately paced horror game the game always gives you full accuracy ironsighted or not, your shots always go dead center, breaking the illusion that you're under threat. The only threat really being the frame drops which will be the biggest detriment to how well you play. The story is typical slav pretentiousness and it'll likely make you cringe unless you're extremely forgiving to that kind of shit.
54f89b No.14865294

Oh, what did make it go back to normal was hitting a point where the game had to load a map. It was pretty retarded. There's apparently a console but I didn't enable it.

That game was actually really good. Great escalation of mechanics and challenge. A little bit of a problem of encouraging you to cheese things but at least that aspect had mechanics you needed to interact with.
Bonus points for wind direction and scent being made into meaningful game mechanics.
