Are there any fun games where I can turn the game on Mute and just enjoy it for the gameplay while I listen to sub-normalfags sperg about cars?
I used to play Dark Souls like this but I know that series like the back of my hand so I need something new to enjoy.
b64173 No.14793521
Why not just disable music and keep the SFX? I've never had a problem listening to podcasts that way.
But if you insist on a totally mute game, there's always DCSS. (Just avoid the more recent versions because the devs went full retard.)

If the games you play are so god damn boring without even the benefit of a good OST so you'd rather listen to some fag go blerp-blerp in the background about inane shit instead of paying attention to the game, then you probaly should get better taste in games kill yourself

I was listening to some podcasts while doing runs through souls games i had beaten before and didn't need to focus as much. I like listening to my own music while playing games more than podcasts but everything i play these days has lots of audio cues i gotta watch out for so i don't get to do that as often. 3 inches of blood is good music to play dark souls to though. Japanese power metal like Galneryus for playing fighting games.

good games can have bad or lacking soundtracks, or in some cases you could be playing something you like but have heard the OST so many times you wanna listen to something else. you're overthinking to a next level

The Paradox games are really good for this. I have put hundreds of hours in them just as something to do while I listen to shit. Pick a game based on a time span you're interested in and get playing.

Any turn-based RPG with no voice acting would be good for that. Consider the Etrian Odyssey series. The grindy nature of Monster Hunter games makes them a decent action game for this kinda thing, too.

Borderlands 2 works for this since all of the sound design, lore, and voice acting is awful or written so badly you'll want to stop playing if you have to listen to it, and all of the objectives have a waypoint. The gameplay is dull enough but just engaging enough for the purpose.

Teleglitch is decent because it has no music, only SFX
However I would recommend only doing this on the first few floors, as the game gets super intense on later floors (starting from floor 3/4) if you want to actually have a crack at winning (the game relies heavily on sound cues to warn you of approaching enemies and environmental hazards). I guess this is a general suggestion because I've never seen any anon talk about this game.
