Why is this game so buggy? I decided to continue where I left off today, and like every time I go to a room the game freezes for a mini second and my character turns 180°. I thought I had entered the room and it was some kind of horror effect, like the room you entered is the same as the room you came from and they're going somewhere with this, but no the game is just fucking buggy

Also is this and the sequel worth tolerating the bugs and finishing it?

Because Indonesia and it's on Unity, you can try to finish it and go for the addon game Keepers of the Dark, but you'll be disappointed on how goddamn bug-ridden and glitch happy game can ruin the atmosphere, but the story goes to a high then low point by Keepers of the Dark, you can finish it OP, but you'll end up a bit disappointed by the time you finish both.

DreadOut is the embodiment of a mixed bag; it's got some excellent atmosphere and is genuinely scary, but at the same time it's almost laughably unpolished in places, from things not registering, spelling errors all over the place, it's never explained what you're supposed to do, the story is just baffling (something about sisters and how your teacher is evil?) not to mention how the graphics are like something you'd see in a cheap PS2 game.

It's worth tolerating if you want to be spooked, but if you're playing it for any other reason, no. Play Fatal Frame instead. Especially 2 and 3.

I think it does, FEAR spooked me me many times on my first play through. And if you want a nice spooky game (as well as fun for survival reasons) play Dead Space if you haven't, it's honestly pretty damn good.

Keepers of the Dark is the worst case of asset recycling I have seen in recent years. Half of the levels or more than that are directly copypasted from the main game, the is no real story to speak off, and the entire horror element goes to hell because you always know that each map only has two or so ghosts waiting for you.

SH2 and 3 are the original but improved in every way. There's just a divide between the SH2 fans who prefer the story-focused, subtle 2 and the more straight trip to hell 3.

SH1 and SH2 are both equally good. SH2 just has exceptionally good story. SH3 bit short on story but the concept and atmosphere is good. SH4 is good but the gameplay is shit and definitely rushed. Rest are shit.

Silent Hill 1 is definitely great, but some of the gameplay suffers from lack of direction. 2 does a better job of guiding you where you need to go, whereas 1 is a bit more meandering and easier to lose your sense of direction. Both great however.
