What games, genre, or series relaxes you and why? For myself I find that building games or the early portions of alot of space RTS because of the time where I can focus on discovery of resources, building infrastructure and/or defenses. Great music helps too but the real details are in the game itself.

I want to try a new space strategy game. I want something that is pretty much star ruler 1 except not buggy and a bit more sensible of a power curve. I wish Star Ruler 2 didn't take the game in such a drastically different direction.

Subnautica (though I wouldn't recommend buying it now since all that developer bullshit) is equal parts relaxing and tremendously tense at times. The parts of the game where you aren't in danger are relaxing as hell. Dwarf Fortress and its clones are relaxing as all hell, too. Like a Zen garden sort of thing. Building in Minecraft can be, though gathering resource in Minecraft gets more tedious than relaxing and all the combat/adventuring aspects are too janky and cheap-feeling to be worthwhile.

Oneshot is a game that's both relaxing and aesthetically pleasing. It has a very unique story about a child who gets magically transported to a land filled with mystical wonders and quirky characters like a robot that needs to be lubricated before he can move and the child has to travel to a city themed around one color while possessing a a critically-important Macguffin in order to go back home. It is in this city where our protagonist tearfully expresses her desire to go home and also where she discovers that she has always had the ability to go home because the Macguffin was the key all along.
