Also its been getting me to think deeper about the little mermaid. Like why is she "the little" mermaid? She is certainly smaller in size when compared to king trident, so if thats the case then she could be little, but that would also imply that all other mermaids would be huge like the king and the other mermaids are all about the same size as Ariel.
The only other explination for what could make her "little" would be age, but how old is she? and better yet, how old is the prince? Did Disney release a movie with a child bride in it? Probably not, now that Disney is making it's own crossover mistake of every fairy tail ever. You could argue that most Pixar films are original but I don't personally count Pixar as being Disney as much as working with Disney. I was about to say The Black Cauldron but that's based off of The Chronicles of Prydain which is inspired (but not based) on Welsh mythology. Depending on your definition of "Fairy Tale", I'd say the Emperor's New Groove (which while obviously referencing the Emperor's New Clothes has literally nothing to do with it.) counts. They've made other original stories (Lilo & Stitch, Wreck-It-Ralph, The Wild, Home on the Range etc) those aren't "fairy tales" in most people's opinions.
