Where are you and how much have you done?
It's a wonderful little game which loses some of the charm on repeat viewing or under scrutiny. I bought it with no expectations after playing the previous Momodora games (which are, collectively, about three hours long) and it blew me away. The music and atmosphere are great, and the combat/enemy design encourage the player to use most options despite the bow being ludicrously overpowered. I always felt as though there was something else to discover in each area, and the number of collectible items and secrets is quite high. It was a gem in the otherwise poor year of 2016 and probably stood out because of that.
The team had an exceptionally poor idea in placing the city first, though. It's so oppressive and lacks the charm of the other areas; personally, something about the ambient noise almost gave me a headache.
The sprites could be higher quality, but personally I didn't mind. This might sound extremely pretentious, but the solid colours and middling resolution gave the characters the appearance of an impressionist art style, as opposed to the greater definition found with higher resolutions and more detail.
Really, my only gripe with this game is its developer: he wanted to make the next installment 3D and posted several EXTREMELY early videos (lacking collision & animations, using default Unity assets) to his Twitter page. Series fans expressed their displeasure and he took it way too seriously. I think the last I heard, the series was on hold because "people clearly don't want me to move forward" or something.
