Never, I'll get mad if it's a team game and my team is letting me down because that's out of my control and it's beyond frustrating to know you've been paired up with some nigger with the skill level of someone who has Parkinson's disease, but I won't quit mid game. Modern matchmaking is god awful for this reason, by the way.
If it's a 1v1 I tend to examine what happened and where I got outplayed rather than get mad in an attempt to learn and get better.
In singleplayer games, what usually forces me to quit is being unable to think my actions through and making dumb mistakes due to being overly tired in the 11th-12th hour of gaming. But I tend to savescum if a surprise encounter just fucks me over out the blue or something I perceive to should have gone my way doesn't e.g. in xcom hunkered down in full cover, ayy gets a crit and kills the soldier

I don't know how it rolls in tanks, but in Air you can eject, which registers as a death for you, which is meaningless, but deprives the opponent of a kill. If a faggot knows he's been out maneuvered and is about to get rekt, he'll simply eject on the spot, and deprive the other of the kill and the points.
This will also happen a lot with faggots who harvest a bunch of ai ground kills for gaijin jewsilvers, and then when they're about to get fucked up by an actual player, they'll just eject after they've raked in their harvest.

The only time i've ever rage quit was playing men of war AS2 with a friend, playing 1v1 fite me fggt mode. Every time he kicks my ass so bad he traps me in the spawn area. Then I finally get a good game in and start winning, that's when I found out he was going easy on me and I get fucked more than ever. the matchmaker algo forces you to lose intentionally like teaming you up with 3 or 2 retards or new accounts with "high 60% winrate" in a game to make the other old account and "low 40% winrate" team composed of strong players win. You'll notice it that most players are 50%-50% though I'd say that's pretty balanced in a wrong sense and is imbalanced due to the fact they only force the numbers by deciding who wins or loses the match like a russian roulette. Sometimes you'll have to streaklose a pub before you can easily win ranked matches. Dota does this so the players can keep on playing instead of making them rage quit forever from 10 losing streak because they're so shit.
the winrate is forced to 50% be it pro or shit just to pander on all players satisfaction including the shitty and snotty edgy brat with "joker" dp.
so on lower ranked bracket you'll end up in a whole level of hell-hole as compared to higher ranked bracket where the players are pretty good themselves.
if you're lucky enough you'll be prioritized by the matchmaker algo as it judges your play based on individual hero rating, gpm/xpm and team standing like total damage and tower damage/heal (including your commends). All you need is to die less and have a very high kda ratio.
the only way to play the game is to never trust your team. don't go playing support then try to "carry" if yours fail, just be the play maker or space maker or just be a carry. if you know how to properly counterpick using your best hero then you'll be pretty fine. if your team picks a high complexity hero then you'll be fine with playing as solo support.
The game is literally won during the picking phase so give it enough thinking.
