For me games are more immersive when they have the right OST and I really enjoy good OST considering most of my music is games OST.

However I really want to play games listening to my own music and I've found there are little games where music matters that much and even worse is better to put my own music in it. So I want to know which games you anons know that either have terrible music or are better experimented with your own music.

In the case of FTL, I just let anything play. When I play VA-11 Hall-A I usually play some noir jazz or something like that. And Rebel Galaxy is actually really convenient since it doesn't only let you play your own list of songs but even mix it with it's own awesome soundtrack and even select playlists for different situations, like battles or just exploring.

I thought about playing Sunless Sea with some music, but the music on itself is good enough, it might be more enjoyable with some of my own music, though, I have to try.

Practically any MMO, since the content is usually grindy as fuck and you're going to be hearing the same tracks over and over.

In particular is Warframe, since you can play some fast paced synthwave shit and it syncs up really, really well. IE: Listening to embed related while starting a mission, and the beat drops right at the first kill. Shit's satisfying as hell.

Games that don't require you to hear SFX or music to still play them optimally essentially. Dungeon crawlers and roguelikes are great for this. So I usually listen to some different music when playing Etrian Odyssey, Dungeon Travelers 2, and Brogue. Though I do love the soundtracks for both of those games. Brogue doesn't even have any sounds or music. Also TRPGs like Fire Emblem or Langrisser.
