I've seen multiple threads for videogames, not shitposting or rulebreaking just videogame threads with solid OP's getting bumplocked or deleted to a ridiculous degree.

So whats going on? Did Mark get a new mod thats on a power trip? Or some insane paranoia that if you don't go full thought police like /a/ you turn into the shithole that is /tv/?

Regardless to see actual videogame discussion that breaks no rules being removed for no legitimate reason is a very worrying precedent. Is the person doing it being overzealous? or imparting their own opinions as thought policing?

We have already seen things like this with boards like /a/ and it only lead to massive user decline and splintering into various smaller boards where 'its okay to talk about X show/manga the mods dont allow' and i would hate to see it happen here.

I know this is going to be met with the knee jerk low tier upset as any meta thread does but the sheer level of this going on is over the top and worrying.

Before you explode remember: if people didn't care they wouldn't bother bringing it up, they would just leave.

/v/ and all of 8chan has been on a rather steady decline for a while. It seems like bad board owners are what's causing shit to go downhill; 8/pol/ is an echochamber that's constantly losing unique user IPs because everyone has been getting banned lately (seriously just look at the banlist for /pol/) and then people have always been coming from /pol/ and treating the entirety of the website like it's theirs, and then you have /v/ which is owned by some fuck who keeps bumplocking and deleting threads that upset him. Tons of posts have been missing lately and I have no idea why; they just delete every single post from a user for a single post that has something they dislike in it and it's fucking dumb. /b/ is basically dead because of Dysnomia fucking things up from what I've heard, and that's basically all of the large 8chan boards. Smaller ones might do okay but there's a genuine need for an audience to come in from the outside and use those smaller boards to discuss topics they enjoy instead of them just having users from other boards. Most users want to stick to the big boards from the looks of it, and the big ones are on the decline, so I feel like there's going to be even more of a problem with smaller boards at some point. It's all burning and 8chan is on it's way to becoming the next 7chan. Sweet lord I used to love this place too and would actively contribute to threads but now I just don't even think it's worth it anymore.

It has some problems and the occasional flare up of retarded vols, but /pol/ is infinitely more far gone than /v/ is. To compare any board right now, even arguably cuckchan boards to 8/pol/ seems like a huge stretch. /pol/ for some reason went from a decent news board to a complete clusterfuck within the span of a few weeks. I don't go there anymore because I kept getting banned and the entire catalog was constantly getting spammed with cuckchan threads so maybe I don't know the exact inner workings of what is going on, but all I know is that it is completely irredeemably fucked.

It's sad because there really wasn't anywhere better to get news from. Guess I get to spend more time on less stressful hobbies now.

Most of the anchors here seem justified. A few of them are fucking retarded but I've reached a point where I don't expect shit to be perfect. I've witnessed horrors of moderation that I didn't think were possible on /pol/. My standards for a quality board have been lowered drastically after realising how quickly a relatively good board can be completely engulfed by cuckchan. This place is a fucking godsend compared to the alternatives and it has absolutely nothing to do with the moderation or BO and everything to do with the excellent self-moderation of the posters you don't get any credit for this board you stupid fat fucking cake eating kike.
