Is the NA version of this game any different from the JP version?

I had read that NA wasn't getting some DLC due to licensing which is already a pretty big deal in a music game but is there anything else?

I think just the KARA songs from Technika may not get released, but I think that is also an issue in all areas and not just US. You should be fine to get whichever version you want.
