It was awful early on and did much worse shit. I have no doubt they'll smooth out the rare kinks in denuvo eventually too. Steam killed the used games market, was one of the main pushers of DLC on the PC and has a very unhealthy monopoly. Denuvo is peanuts compared to steam.

It just is, the production quality is high, especially the Poseidon scene with Sophitia blew my mind as a kid and it still looks damn good, the music is great and one of the few sang intros that avoids cringe completely, it showscases every character quickly but with personality, everyone else except for maybe Seong-Mina you'll have an idea of what kind of person they are. Actually not even on PC the game would run. The first trailers shown in >>14724461 had the game within the scope of TW2 instead of being open world plus they were shown running on impossibly expensive PC builds. When they increased the scope to open world they realized that the level of graphical fidelity they went for with the earlier trailers were impossible to maintain and scrapped everything and remade the game like you said.
