I guess collectorfags were just overblowing the value of their games. just like modern art right nowby the way, anyone got that cap about art being a money laundering operation ran by kikes?

ed5aff No.14718636

There is a Toys R Us near me that is being used for warehouse emptying that I have been checking on my way home for work most days. Best I could find was a 7 year old transformer that I paid the around the same it would cost to buy one on Ebay.

They also have a shit load of DS shovel ware games for dirt cheap like an Are You Smarter then a Fifth Grader game.

But yeah, anyone who has worked retail and ever had to be involved with inventory counting can attest to the fact that things get lost in the strangest of places and often times when they are found they are either not worth putting in clearance or there is some bullshit company policy that doesn't allow for it to be put back on the shelf unless you are going out of business.

Like a >20$ <1GB flash drive that can't be marked down because its outside of the current store inventory management system but still inside of the point of sale inventory system.

for people who were alive during the time, its a nice piece of nostalgia. i bought F-zero in its original packaging and i like to have it. i have a few other games in its original packaging including atari games. complete with coupons that it came with.

We're not talking about a 20 million (((art))) piece, we're talking about some item that's worth a few hundred maybe. You wouldn't get very far laundering money with those amounts.

No wonder. I remember that game being fucking everywhere as a kid. I think they manufactured more copies of that game than they did actual Game Gears, and then they started to pack Sonic 2 in with new Game Gears - so all that left over inventory just sat on shelves and collected dust.

I worked a temp job back in 2002 where I helped clear out a local WalMart store during the move to their newly constructed supercenter, and they had a few copies of Sonic 2 for the Game Gear in the back of the warehouse. I was going to just take them, like a bunch of the shit we found under the shelves which had already been cleared as a loss long ago, but they were still in inventory and had to be present at the new store for audit.

Asked one of the local managers if they could hold it for me so I could buy it, but they still wanted like $40~50 for it so I said forget it.

To scan it properly would require equipment and effort that may not be worth it for something that's likely to already be done. What's worse is that it's physically large and heavy so it's not even easy to ship it to someone else either. I was going to start taking them out of the boxes in batches instead of all at once.

This is decades of video games stuff, it's a lot.

believe it or not, reading old magazines is one of my favorite things to do. i have a bunch of car and driver mags from the early 90s and late 80s and read at least two a week, and re-read them virtually endlessly. i do the same with the 40 or 50 heavy metal mags i picked up at a yard sale for ten cents apiece. i honestly think it makes me insane but it is what it is

Reminds me of my local store - they had an original copy of Starcraft sitting in their "discount" section at full price for years. I eventually told them Blizzard was literally giving it away for free now. Still took them another year to get rid of it, unless someone actually bought it during that time.
