It's like a dating sim visual novel thing but you can make custom characters that get saved with image cards that you can share with others. You are the one guy in a school of girls in this one, you walk about and talk to them and try to get them to join your duck weed club i mean learning to date skinship club thing. AA2 (Artificial Academy 2) was like this but not as customizable in terms of character creator, though in that one, there were other boys in the class that you could befriend or be-rival or physically fight and yandere girls would kill classmates. That's why you don't understand why it contributes to the gameplay, because it's not something I want happening, but the fact that it can gives serious motivation to not play badly, and getting it right is all the more rewarding. Additionally it ties into the murder feature since that's what leads to most of them. Humourously my first blind playthrough of a mostly yandere class got cut short by some guy's lover raping me.
Also yeah it is just a game. It feels bad to lose to an NPC, but it's not remotely comparable to the pain or consequences of real-life cheating.
