Seems like the snow areas look better than the rest. The biggest issue for me isn't really the colors but how busy everything looks. Too much visual noise. It's especially apparent in the grassland screencaps where they have floating particles for the sake of having floating particles.
The snow areas look nicer because it has more contrast. You can have as many bright and vibrant colors as you want, but it'll always look like shit without enough contrast.
The original games didn't have perfect contrast either, but the lower visual noise makes everything pop out easier.

During summer when I was young I remember skies that were sapphire blue, and though I look at the skies more often now I haven't seen blues like that in a decade at least. Even old photos that I have and have seen show the sky a deeper blue than it is now.

Hi shill-kun, if you'll notice it's not that everyone on /v/ dislikes coloring fantasical artstyles though plenty of fags would I guess. It's mostly about how the devs went about using the colors available to them and somehow making everything contrast even less than the original somehow. This is especially true with OP image as somehow with a much larger color palette the ground blends in with the castle and the sky is much less vibrant making it stand out even less. There have been games that can use wide color palettes and still look good. Like first 3 pics related. Last pic is what would happen if you got the levels for the image under control and all of a sudden it looks far better. That may indicate it's more of a lighting issue than how the devs made it, but the devs intentional chose to do this level of lighting and still fuck up.

I'm still trying to figure out what's "wrong".
It's colorful and vivid and you can see they tried to make everything look more full of life and detail with the new power available yet the lighting is fucking stupid and even alarmed me in the trailer. Something feels off and the sun is the absolute worst culprit. It's ironically almost hard to make out shit compared to the original less fancy visuals.
It's like they were thinking "Look how alive and magical Spyro's world looks with all this new stuff, we even have an actual pretty sun now for oldschool fans to take in while charging around." I appreciate the effort and creativity, but something desperately needs to be done about the fucking sunlight.

Judging by the shadows in the image the sun is setting or rising, resulting in the light being orange/yellow and tinging the grass that color.
