Alright, what do you niggers think of AMD's combat crates? I was looking at getting one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Combat-graphics-Tomahawk-Motherboard/dp/B07CG63CS7/

Thoughts? Not in the US and looking to dodge retarded GPU pricing because of the cryptoniggers.

4c4091 No.14694211

seems like a good deal, good hardware on a good platform with a clear and promising future ahead of it. gpu isn't great but if money is a concern I doubt you'll be 1440memeing it up. the price of just the cpu and gpu are practically the same as the price of the combat box.

Thanks, I was going to be going for higher end 1080p gaming.

It's not limited to RAM anymore?

>>14694198

Speaking of RAM, you're going to have to pony up the dough for fast RAM to get the most out of a Ryzen CPU. Though, TOP FPS is mainly for CS:GO players.

>GPU prices are too high

>I'll buy this bundle of shit with a crappy GPU instead

just suck it up and buy the part you need, double nigger

1c0e26 No.14695383

I'm personally going to snatch a 2700X and a Vega 64 in June, to set up a Windows VM with a PCI passthrough, plus all the other components needed in order to make them work. The only real option regarding GPUs is what >>14695221 said. Can't really wait any longer for a new rig, my previous CPU is fine, but it will show its age soon especially with the janky motherboard it's installed to and I don't even have a dedicated graphics card right now.

>>14694198

Just an attempt by AMD to sell off all of the remaining first gen Ryzen chips. If you can settle for last year's chip, by all means, go ahead and buy that bundle, it's a good deal.

Shouldn't prices normalize by 2019? That's what I heard at least.

1c0e26 No.14695467

It seems that nobody knows for sure when prices will go back to MSRP, but we do know that prices are going down at the moment. The bubble burst, and it will stay that way if no other cryptocoins pop up or anything similar happens.

Isn't mining moving away from using GPUs? I heard they're introducing new coins that don't require GPUs or any other kind of specialized hardware.

1c0e26 No.14696159

>>14695506

On the contrary. Newer coins, like Ethereum, were developed specifically to be mined with GPUs instead of ASICs. Even though this is true, ASICs designed specifically for it have been released recently.

In fact, most cryptocurrencies can be mined with GPUs rather profitably, but only when the coin hasn't been mined much. As time goes on and more coins are mined, difficulty (calculations needed to mine one coin) goes up too. GPUs eventually mine less and ASICs are needed in other to stay profitable. There are exceptions, like a coin that is mined with hard drives.

>don't require GPUs or any other kind of specialized hardware.

Don't conflate GPUs with specialized hardware. ASICs are quite specialized, since they are only used for mining certain coins and nothing else. GPUs are used for more than just gaming.

09c90e No.14696235

>>14694198

I think it's fucking retarded that the only way to get a reasonably priced GPU is in a bundle saddled with extra hardware directly from the manufacturer to avoid any possibility of retail markups and scalpers. Fuck cryptoniggers.

That said, the CPU is worth about $180 it's also a great CPU and the motherboard goes for about 80, so provided you need those it's a good way to get a GPU for under $300.

Look you retard, that only applies if you can talk up your worthless shitcoin and get a retard to buy it, you're sitting on the equivalent of petro dollars except you don't have the oil or the guns to force it on everyone else.

7892c7 No.14696268

Some shitcoins, Monero in particular, have effectively resisted ASIC via hashing algorithm updates.

If it's verified new parts and what you want, sure, but bear in mind, like most part aggregators if you can't verify source some minerfaggot could be selling you a burnt out useless card.
