I think the place where you can really see that it's a difference in quality and not just a different tone is the way the droids are written. HK is kind of a one-note joke character and T3 isn't even a character in 1. They become enormously more interesting in 2.

Its a little tricky, every where I read recommends something different, the only thing that works for me is crt+alt+del and setting the affinity for the processor to just 1 core instead of 4, and when it lags I just alt-tab and click back. Its been running pretty well.

One of the most significant things Kreia said was that words can conquer a galaxy. Linguistic control wasn't a huge theme in the game, but she at least understood how important words are, which is a theme that games rarely explore even in cases like Deus Ex. I didn't play Deus Ex back when it came out, but KotOR had some similar themes with Czerka's fuckery.

There is unfortunately a certain segment of the Star Wars and vidya communities that's been fully indoctrinated by feminism when it comes to the question of dating sexy teen cuties, or "trad" shit which is basically the same thing. It's funny, because at 14, Mission can hack computers, crack locks, and generally do a ton of things they can't do as adults, and she's risking her life to save the galaxy from the Sith, and yet these fucking faggots who can't do a tenth of what she can do think they're in a position to tell us she isn't mature enough? There are similar characters throughout vidya as well, who are both physically appealing and smarter and more capable than almost any adult, but we're told that we shouldn't be attracted to them. It's bullshit. Something needs to be done to purge these cucks. They've been around since the early 2000s or so, and they should have been disposed of back then.

I hated KotOR 2 to be honest. I hate that they try to do this gay "muh moral grey area" tripe. In Star Wars, the whole jedi sith thing is about good guys vs bad guys. That's it. The only room for edgy grey bullshit is with the Fett amd Solo type characters.

That's why KOTOR reminds me of the original trilogy while KOTOR 2 reminds me of the prequels. Bioware knew what people liked about the series while Obsidian tried to make a more "adult" world and forgot that star wars is a simple adventure and nothing more.

Star Wars can be many things. It's a big galaxy that has room for different types of stories. The way I see it is that KotOR 1 is an adventure like Episode IV, whereas KotOR 2 is like Episode V because it's darker, not focused on a superweapon and talks more about the philosophy of the Force. Presumably if we'd gotten the actual KotOR 3 it would have been like Episode VI. Instead we got TORtanic.
