Get him some more straightforward shmups like Mushihimesama, or Cho Ren Sha 68K which is freeware and works on about anything. Shoot enemy, dodge bullet, simple as that. If that's too hard for him, try Chicken Invaders

That's a lot of FPS and action for someone with autism. Get him some strategy, I've never met an autist that didn't love strategy. Rome 1 or Medieval 2 would be perfect. On top of that you could try Zoo Tycoon and Impossible Creatures
