I wonder what's so good about widescreen mods for these types of games.

I tried installing these once, and it just made everything smaller, not to mention menus farther apart and some stuff just get stretched because the game wasn't meant to be played on really high resolutions.

Meanwhile, staying on supported resolutions has good visuals, not tiny, and no problems.

That's why I stick to 1280x720. Things don't become really tiny, but you still get a nice view.
