Why are we bound to have hearstone clone?

Why does non hearstone clone fall into oblivion? and with marvel's upcoming movie, it will certainly not change

Why does CCG in video game are basically either:

yugioh

magic (and the p2w clone (((HEX)))

hearstone and the insane number of copy cat?

Hell IIRC the most popular f2p hearstone clone is shadowverse who is basically:

>hearstone mechanics and playstyle with animu girl boobs

no wonder it is popular if you target that niche playerbase with such deadly accuracy

Even if some had issue where did all the variety go ? aside from the now 6foot under MM:DoC and the curently in "paliative-care" infinity war all the "independant" (aka not based on an existing franchise like pokemon/yugioh/magic) CCG are ALL hearstone clone.

Anons, please, if you know of a CCG game that is actually good and is not a hearstone clone, share !

Whats your criteria for good? because they are all cost a lot of money for "ownership" of digital cards

> because they are all cost a lot of money for "ownership" of digital cards

my good also imply not a jewish game where they give you nothing.

perhaps that is also another reason as to why shadowverse is working so much as it is a less jewish version of hearstone since they give you 40 packs from the get go, same for infinity wars.

So yea the 1st criteria (along with nto being an heartstone clone) would be the fairness of the f2p model since we are speaking about f2p and jpegs.

That's gonna be hard, because even all the pre-Hearthstone ones I played years ago went full-jew.

so it is either an original but dead game, or hearstone animu version? (hearstone clone being the main thing i want to avoid)

else, they are p2w game ?

well that's just great …

Gwent would fit that, they even have a very generous f2p model. The only issue is that the game will be a bit slow during the next 5-6 months because CDPR is pausing the release of new content to prepare for going out of beta by then.

Hearthstone is actually a clone of Etherlords

I got into the MTG Arena closed beta today. They gave away quite a bit of free shit just for playing. Decided to make a Torment of Hailfire meme deck right off the bat and I've been having a lot of fun winning against all these aggro decks with no counters to all my removal and walls before I slam down my fat 10+ mana hailfire while they're out of steam and don't actually have much to discard(if anything at all).

I lose to everything else though.

They'll be sure to have that fixed once it's actually out.

Who knows, games like shadowverse hand out packs like candy and are still around. This game is also here to clean the taste of that shitty outsourced F2P MTG out of people's mouths. The main complaint of that one being that it was too hard to earn packs.

Duel Links is pretty fucking generous when it comes to in-game currency, and you can get several meta decks fairly easily as long as you know what cards to get and are clever with your spending. Hell, for some decks like aromage you cant spend money for the cards even if you wanted to.

>Why are we bound to have hearstone clone?

Because this industry lacks skill, passion and originality. At this point I doubt we will see any improvement during our lifetime.

I just want a nice single player card game where you start with a shit deck but then you go on an adventure, walk around, find cards, slowly improve your deck, maybe the game throws some challenges with different rules at you where you're forced to get creative with deckbuilding to win the match.

Everything nowadays is just online PVP which I understand but it's getting boring.

Etherlords II is great for that.

The start of each of its campaigns are pretty unforgiving and largely luck based because you start with no additional cards to customize your deck but once you start getting cards you accumulate a large variety of them quickly. The game is good at throwing curveballs in its encounters and you constantly have to switch up your deck. Its levels often have areas where there's a special condition that applies to both players, and encounters within that area are built around exploiting it and giving you hard time.

I suggest starting with the Chaot campaign then continuing with the Kinet campaign. I found the Vital campaign to be pretty boring and tedious, maybe the playstyle of Vital just doesn't suit me. The game has five campaigns and with four of them you're locked to a pool of cards exclusive to the faction you're playing as. The fifth campaign lets you use all the faction-specific cards in addition to its own set of exclusive cards that is based around a unique mechanic that no other faction has.

Also, when you encounter card vendors, keep in mind that the cards they sell are usually exclusive to them so buy a card that you think will be useful as soon as you see it.

The game has fully animated combat animations but you can press space to skip an animation whenever you want or disable animations entirely.

>a CCG game that is actually good

Doesn't exist, never has, never will. Not in video games, not in tabletop games, it just can't exist.
