With the robot it's a bit weird (knobs, reflective tape, main body, visor, weights, etc) but for the variety kit it makes sense (house, fishing rod, bike, piano, rc car, accessorys and reflective tape). If a reckless kid spills water on the piano, you don't need to buy the whole (Variety) kit, just the piano.

As a consumer it appears to be as strong as I would have liked. My goal is a year lifetime minimum for this little piano.
In a short while I'll dick around with the software to see if there's anything of note to report. At this point it wants me to do some series of tutorials to learn how to operate my paper thing, but I'm able to mash through everything but a few short (~20 sec) videos for 5 year olds.

Yeah the thing is pretty solid for cardboard I can drop it from a half foot with the switch in it and it just bounces a small bit but holds up. Takes a foot and a half fall and the knob flies out but appears to hold as strong as it was before the fall.
Keys appear durable, unless the child starts hitting it with their fists then it seems like it would last six months and maybe more if taken care of. Of course that is purely speculation on how long it will last.
It hasn't eaten any of my key strokes. The larger keys have a bit of cardboard to push them back into a neutral position after being pressed and the black keys are stopped by striking the top of the key area and fall with just gravity back into place when you strike them.

Middle of the road right now. Glad the piano was all I wanted, about to try and make some custom waveforms soon.
The bike is predictably inaccurate in control, but the twisting handlebar (for acceleration, not steering) feels solid. The actual "game" content is as bare bones as the advertisements showed. I haven't played all the speeds so I don't want to comment more on the gameplay just yet. The cardboard handlebar unit itself serves as a proof of concept for a low cost diy peripheral. I think it would be better if I could anchor it to something that can swivel while having a motionless base, something I could hang-on to.
If I try anything else tonight it'll be that thing with the tank shooting little dudes with the IR camera.
