Whats your opinion on Hotline Miami /v/?

Personally I really like the series. It gives the rewarding feeling of being hard and addicting at the same time.

And the music is top notch, probably one of the better modern indie games

I really liked the 1st, but I had my fill, so I never tried the 2nd.

It reminded me of Stick Arena. I'd like more games similar to these in the future.

While 2 is shit for its camera, focus on story, incoherent plot, okay music and useless gimmicks that barely work. Hotline Miami 1 is far from indieshit kill yourself nigger

>horribly shallow

You mean to say simple, which is not inherently bad. It's not a complex game. Not all good games are complex.

>It's the same level over and over again

Okay, so you didn't even play it. Thanks for wasting a couple minutes of my time.

fucking hell at least make an effort

tbqh I think it tries too hard to be le a e s t h e t i c, while offering very little in the means of actual content apart from the main campaign and an epilogue that pulls an M. Night Shamalamadingdong for no fucking reason. It also started an insufferable trend of faggots sucking its dick for its memewave soundtrack

That said, I did thorougly enjoy it the first time around.

HM2 does fall apart in terms of gameplay, turning it mostly in the cover shooter, and I can see why a lot of people didn't enjoy it for the story either, since it ties up most if not all of the loose ends and open questions presented by the first game, leaving next to nothing left for interpretation and effectively killing any possiblity for a sequel

so every game has to have EVE level of complexity and "depth" to be remotely enjoyable? kill yourself you gigantic faggot

>HM1

banging soundtrack, great level design, great pacing/flow, great "story" because it's very vague and unclear what your motivation is/why this is happening

>HM2

banging soundtrack, shitty level design, shitty pacing/flow (better get ready for doorpeeking and windows all day), shitty story that tries to over-explain something that was best as a "do you like hurting people" violence vehicle
