Mostly swardian knights. Rhodoks are my main infantry but they stay on a fairly low level, because I tend to use them as shortstops for enemy cavalry.

I played Nord/Rhodoks for years now. I wanted to try something different. I find it extremely satisfying to set up my cavalry in an ambush position to the flank of the enemy, wait for the enemy to charge into my infantry and then have my cavalry slam into the enemie's rear. Maybe I will incorporate some light Saranid cavalry into my army, or start a new one based around light cavalry and scouts for intercepting weaker foes more easily once I have my own Sarranid city and can deploy my heavy infantry/archers as a garrison, and keep them safe for the next major war.

You don't know that the game glitches out and corrupts your save if you start another new game without closing the game and then opening it again? It eventually gives your character a horrible tiny scrunched up face, fucks up every market (no one sells anything), makes every food give 0 morale, etc. It's a pretty well known problem, lad.

For some reason I always return to 1257 A.D., I just like the sheer size of it, the non-fantasy setting and the look is just neatly somber and immersive. I've tried medieval Conquest a while ago, but for some reason the inventory UI color just repels me to such a degree that I can't enjoy it properly, It fucking daunts me to look at this low contrast mess

Try the new Kraken units, they're sturdy as fuck. Basically Knight Huscarls with shield cracking throwing weapons.
