That's what other series are for. If you liked game A it's just disappointing to have game A2 come out and be [some genre you don't like at all]. If people like a game it's generally because they like the gameplay, and replacing the gameplay leaves just the story and universe which generally isn't enough to care about.

Problem is that you have to know the moves to know the timing to parry. Pushing forward on the stick to hope for a parry leaves you getting hit.
This is not like the SFV parry.

If every parry nets you a counter attack opportunity, then how are other skills even necessary? Even if you only low punch after every successful parry, you'll still win every time if you can indeed parry everything.

No, you have to press down for a low attack, forward for a normal attack and up for a jump attack, you'd need to be psychic to predict every move.
Parries are very risky, top players block way more than trying to parry unless they're playing a scrub.
