Why does anyone keep saying this when all I have to do is mention Red Orchestra Ostfront to prove anons like you wrong? Games are arbitrary systems of rules. You can form those rules any way you want, and as long as they make sense you will have a good game. "Realism" is, when you really think about it, kind of a meaningless term for describing a game, other than that it suggests a set of mechanical decisions i.e. one-shot kills that aren't headshots, so it's shorter than describing all those mechanics in detail. But if you pick apart those mechanics, they have existed in other games which are also good. Most "realistic" games are shit because they are not consistent in their rules. Call of Duty, for example, is a mish-mash of stupid ideas, some of which are founded in "realism" for the sake of making the game feel "grittier" in atmosphere and some of which are there to make the game playable. If you take a holistic approach to designing a realistic game, they can easily be good.

stop trying to justify your position, you don't know enough. The main criticisms I would levy towards it are related to the netcode and the fact that ubisoft is the developer. Gunplay is satisfying often but as I said earlier the main criticism is netcode/server tick related but there's no point getting into the details. I do know enough about it. I know for a fact that every Ubisoft game has bad netcode. They either use peer 2 peer multiplayer, which is utter trash or low tickrate servers. They had shit servers in AC and WD too. I only played fc1 and 2, but from what I have heard the newer fc games also had shit servers. So why should it be any different here?

It didn't when it was released back then, and 60 is still not ideal. Also the tick rate is not the only important thing. There are other things that matter like clientside or server side hit detection and lag compensation.

cmon man I don't want to stand up for the game that much but that's the bullet drop you expect out of any of the scenarios you play in siege except plane, and that's just if some niggers run out as far as possible and try shooting at each other. Battlefield for example reasonably has drop because the distances seen are beyond cqc. They could put it in as a token effort but it really would be meaningless, just catching someone off guard once in a few hundred rounds
