Not, it wasn't. I tried the open beta, I saw what the idea was and what the execution actually was.
It LOOKS good on paper, and the first minutes of you playing the game, the possibilities of what you can do with all the gameplay mechanics they give you are pretty interesting. Then the other players literally kick in and you realize how badly designed the game is.
Wraith as the most played class for a reason. Triple or 3 Walljumps that reset when you touch the ground is far better than the cooldown-based dodge\grappling the assassin had, the Wraith was simply too fast compared to everyone else, had the best burst damage and having low health means nothing in a game where everyone dies with a sneeze to their face.
Medic was token as fuck, your healing plays fuck all of a role, everyone dies all the fucking so fast you're not gonna help anyone but yourself.
You'd think a partnership with heavier classes would work out, but they only last a fraction of a second longer so there's no point in picking the heavy guys unless you want slower and less powerfull guns.
You had hitscan weapons and projectile weapons in the same game. In maps that feature long zero-G sections in open ground. Guess what trumps what all the fucking time. You could pick the Gunslinger and stick to the sides, picking airborne targets 1 by 1 with your railgun revolver.
I really wish the game didn't flopped this fucking hard just so more people could try the gameplay and understand WHY BALANCE IN A VIDEOGAME IS IMPORTANT.
Playing heavier classes that aren't that resilient and have no way to fend off long range enemies isn't fun, doing it in open ground on the objectives you have to defend even less so.
Having 2 types of weapons but one far outclasses the other in reliability means you're just asking for a hitscan up your arse while you try to prove how hardcore you are with your airshots.
And having one OP class that's really fun for you play is fucking shit if every single match is 6v6 Wraiths. You migh as well call it LawWraiths at that point.

The game had a few neat ideas for gameplay indeed. The Assassin grapling hook and his dashs were pretty nice, the moveset of the Wraith is pretty cool, the robodudes looked actual badass, the Valkyr seemed like a really nice take on adding jetpacks to this game and zero-g looks a lot of fun.
However the horrible thing is that nobody ever considered to balance any of these out and they left a bunch of incompatible ideas together in the same game as well as really low-ttk for a class based shooter just to cement those differences even more.
Basically, Lawbreakers was a cake with, not just all the right ingredients, but some new and tasty to freshen it up. But it was mixed like shit and with shit and the result was a shit cake. None of those good ideas actually work together at all. They just ruin something or everything else.
Wraith's fun, jumping around and sliding. Too bad you either play him or nothing else.
Tankish characters are nice to defend points\flags, etc. Too bad they don't last long at all, have no ability to disengage reliably, can't outlast the burst damage thrown their way or even counter long range encounters.
Valkyr seems fun, zooming around with a minigun. But you'll always be chasing a faggot and run out of both fuel and ammo right on top of him, leaving you vulnerable as fuck.
And these are just class balance issues. There's trouble with maps, gamemodes, weapons, etc. Whatever fun you think you can extract from this will only last until someone else actually tries to win the game and starts using dumb shit that works but isn't fun.

It is a natural part of us and is needed for survival, you are wrong in saying that rage stifles you, in fact it's quite the opposite, rage makes you ACT.
