He has a point. The anime starts off really good as a story of two street kids work their ways in two different directions into one massive mafia group. One's a slick negotiator and the other's basically the mafia's special ops. It has power struggles, friendships, betrayals, some really good character building and a garbage storyline where the main character willingly lets his lover go because he thinks she will hate him for being a cleaner even though she outright stated she doesn't care.
Then episode 16 or 17 comes around and it skips to the future where the cleaner is now a zombie and the negotiator is now the big boss of the mafia and the anime devolves into zombie cleaner doing poses, enemies die, repeat. The one redeemable part about the second half is the fight between Brandon and Bunji.
The games are fun but I hate having to tap square a gazillion times. The first I remember was also kind of easy.
