I would say it is in so far as you can only report them in the match. you load in, get teamkilled and they leave and back at the menu thats it, no way to report them at all.

I think it's pretty fun. I've never run into a TK'er on my team, though I have oddly enough been in a few matches were the other team got wiped by their teammate.

I never played this game and I'm shit at fps anyway. However what you experienced looks like a common problem in games with matchmaking : autists who got bored of playing the same game over and over but are unwilling to do something else because it requires effort. So they make another account (or flat out buy the game a second time) and dick around.

In a server based multiplayer, this is not a problem at all. Since matchmaking pits all sorts of players together regardless of what kind of game they want to play and kick/ban aren't in the hands of players anymore, conflicts have no other way of being resolved than griefing, yelling, or waiting for daddy dev to do something. Messing with teamkillers and autismos in counter strike 1.6 was tons of fun.

I saw a post in another thread a few days ago about how making everything matchmaking instead of servers means games can't self grow a "community" because the devs dictate how players get into games with one another and you don't get those servers of friends who play together frequently. I found it pretty interesting but almost makes me wonder why devs are avoiding servers when they wanna act like their games have such great communities

There's the fact that you have to write different code for consoles and PC if you want to support dedicated servers, and the fact that modern copyright law is so atrocious that developers feel entitled to shackle down their product. If you run a dedicated server, there's pretty much nothing they can do to stop you from hosting mods and dicking around with the game's settings.

All I can think of right now is streamlining :

they want to make sure anyone can just hop in a game without thinking. Some people really are retarded enough to join an Asian server then complain about the lag and the lack of English speaking players.

As a rule "devs" (it looks more like editor directives to me but whatev) seem to dislike giving control to their userbase. It opens the gate to modding, and it diversifies the games which makes them confusing to market appropriately (or so they think).

I've done this, thought I didn't rebuy the game or make a new account. Basically, I spent a ton of time playing the game, and eventually started to get tired of it. But you're in a way addicted to the game, so you can't quit cold turkey. I remember thinking along the lines of

It's bad, it's usually because of games being designed to be addicting instead of fun. It's made worse because you're with a bunch of random assholes, who cares, you'll never see them again.

After that, I realized lots of griefing is a sign of a game being addicting and a large portion of the players are there because they are addicted, not because they are having fun.

It is the biggest problem in Siege but Ubisoft won't fix it because they're too busy monitoring "toxic" people who say bad words in the chat.

I stopped playing the game because of that, since it happens also in Terrorist Hunt. The last time I played TH we completed the objectives and were heading towards the extraction zone and the guy carrying the hostage decided to headshot all of us and quit before we couldn't even report his account (the Uplay app doesn't even have an option to report a player encountered).
