Apparently the guy who leaked the fucking last Nintendo Direct is now saying that Smash Bros is gonna heavily focus on third parties. Now I'm not against third parties per say, however heavily involving them instead of just making some assist trophies into playable characters has to be the biggest "fuck you" I've seen in quite a long time.
I sure as hell hope this is fake, but knowing that Sakurai is on the project it's probably real. May as well rename Smash Bros into fucking MUGEN because this shit is fucking disgusting. Wasn't enough that characters like Saki, Wonder Red, Pious, Takamaru, Ray MK III and Isaac got the shaft. Hell even Little Mac got the shaft until Smash 4, and he's the only one who got an upgrade.
It's fucking bullshit, I hate it and I blame it all on reddit. Fuck those retarded normalfags. They keep fucking shilling shit games like Celeste and Overcooked. While good games like Snake Pass and Fast RMX get the shaft because they're not fucking shit meme games that you buy for a dollar. I don't care much for third party characters. I always viewed Smash Bros after the first as a way for Nintendo to bring attention to lesser known characters. FE at the time was pretty niche, Earthbound didn't reach autistic levels of thinking it's great. Casuals didn't really know Nintendo existed before NES before Game And Watch.
Characters like Wonder Red getting in to Smash 5 have a chance to revive interest in Wonderful 101. Lip, more F-Zero, King K Rool, etc all have the chance to revive interest in those franchises and revive them.
But adding third party characters, Smash's roster turns into a popularity contest, where the most popular third party characters show up at the expense of smaller characters who can revive forgotten Nintendo IP and games.
Ice Climbers coming back is fucking awesome. And even though Subspace had a lot of problems, it was a lot of fun. Much more fun than the single and coop modes in Smash 4 Wii U. I assume this is one of those fake rumors to judge how the public reacts. Letting Nintendo know Smash should stay as a Nintendo game instead of a third party popularity contest would be a good way to make sure this bullshit doesn't happen.

It infuriates me that a nearly 20 year old N64 game (with a 3DS remake) still clearly surpasses what Zero did in terms of story, gameplay, level design, replayability and even having a basic vs multiplayer mode compared to Zero's absence of one. I'll admit Zero probably doesn't have local multiplayer because they would have to come up with a Gamepad free control scheme for it. It also annoys me at the lost potential of Treehouse Live mentioning things like letting the boss from Corneria escape (mission complete status) instead of blowing it up and he would return in a future level didn't happen.
Sometimes I feel like Nintendo doesn't understand why people even like 64 and why fans want a proper gameplay sequel to it. At this point it feels like they could just remake Assault, give it 5 new levels and branching paths and that could sell better.
