You say that like it's an easy thing. Without exclusives, everyone just gravitates toward the console with the better hardware or online functionality. Even if all games worked the same on all consoles, there will be inherent exclusivity, no matter how small it is. Barely any exclusives and you've got games that are cross platform between xbone and PC, which begs the question, what reason is there to buy and play a game on xbone when PC would be the superior choice to play it on? In theory, it would be great if there were no exclusives but the reality proves that wrong. Exclusivity is the differential that has been a driving force for economy to get people to buy something over another. It has worked in distribution for department stores, which will likely be phased out by online stores.
