Can anyone point me to some games that actually have diverse, handcrafted stages with something tying them together, like story or so?
I'm talking:
- Space Channel 5
- Elite Beat Agents (not OSU)
- Rhythm Heaven/Paradise/etc.
- Rhythm Thief (though the minigames here are mostly shite)
- Theatrhythm Final Fantasy (though the music stages themselves are samey)

Oh shit, AC converts have been exactly what I've been looking for. Bought a PS2 Taiko drum controller and modded it to make it actually detect shit, and even made some custom bachi out of a broom handle, sanded them and polished them.

I did once. I was at a weeb con and they had 2 metal dancemats. They where extremely worn out (they had barely any paint on them left) and the staff had to repair one panel mid-con. Also they had some bends, as if someone had danced while wearing soccer boots or high heels. Not the best experience if you ask me. The lads taking care of the DDR stand where cool guys though, and it was free.

You could just dismantle it and flatten the tiles with a hammer. Also those pads where extremely old. They usted PlayStation 2 controler ports instead of USB like modern ones.They where connected to a PC through and adaptar.
