Why did they only let you use lioness and not male lions with the cool looking manes? I know lioness hunt more, but other animals in the game are embellished for the sake of being cool, like the eels who shoot lighting beams.

Well fucking Carlos aside, most devs are dumbass college grads who took liberal arts or worse game design so they don't know shit about coding a good game that isn't horribly optimized. Fuck they can't even do something as simple as make a barrel that drains a puddle of liquid when you shoot it even though twice two Anons on this site came up with simple solutions that didn't take countless months of hard labor to figure out.
