so /v/, I found this random map script generator tool for age of mythology: the titans, which actually works, and, unlike MapGen, has player area support:

http://aom.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=8844

what is a random map, you may ask?

unlike most RTS games which have fixed maps and a random option which picks from all available fixed maps, a random map is a set of variables and such and whatnot that produces a map that looks like the picture in the… preview icon, but every time you play on the map(unless you click restart), trees, gold mines, settlements, animals, rocks, and other placeables are located in different places, and even the player start locations are different, and even the shape of the land itself can be different every time, but generally adhere to a general shape; if a map is supposed to be covered in snow and have a huge mountain in the middle, it'll always be covered in snow and have a huge mountain in the middle

I come to you /v/, asking for help

I want to make a circle of touching and overlapping islands in the lava, and a version of the map that uses water instead of lava

however, I'm not entirely sure how to

PERFECTLY

divide this 96x96 circle into 32 sections; what I actually want to do is place 32 different somewhat-circular areas where the sub-divers are located, so I'd like to be able to see those sub-dividers

the method by which I'd be placing the somewhat-circular areas is by designating the (x,y) coordinates of each area, whereas (0,0) is one corner of the map, (0,1) is another corner of the map, (1,0) is another corner of the map, and (1,1) is another corner of the map, and non-integer coordinates are available

so, I thought that I'd take a perfect MSpaint 96x96 circle, put my cursor over the coordinates of each red dividing line, and then put those coordinates into the RMS program that I'd downloaded to place the areas

would /v/ help me out with dividing this circle perfectly into 32 sections?

I tried 12 already, but I can't get the circles to be small enough whilst also having them touch eachother if theres only 12, and also the finished map is gonna work for AoM:TT

also, AoM/AoMx/AoM:YotD general

That's pretty nifty, does it work with the AI?

as long as theres chickens or berry bushes and/or a gold mine near the enemy's starting town center, it should work with the AI

also, I decided to try out a circle divided into 24 parts instead, which is much, much easier to google

bumpan your just cause OP

Can someone supply a comprehensive list of how TotD shit the bed? I want to be sad.

>punished AoM already overshadowed by AoE2

>dies a new death with its irredeemable HD expansion while AoE2 soars up into the mainstream thanks to its past popularity and just very mediocre nuexpacs
