Are you limited or something? how is it difficult to understand that even if you do a melee-like game: it will still be a party game ? melee was one, but it did not have such BS and patheticaly low skill cap.
maybe because back in melee time, sakurai was like:
"let's not lock the gameplay behind to many end lag and let them have fun instead"

please note that brawl was so fucked, so "locked" that defensive play is the only way to win… hense the super smash. Because it overcome defensive play. the super smash is the only thing in brawl that actually force player to go on the offensive. aside from that, the design of the game itself reward defensive play.

Nobody is forcing you to play melee competitively, what is stopping you from playing it just like you played it in your youth? with high rate pokeball only?
