+ Combat isn't half bad. It's basically a slightly less wonky and not-so-grapple-heavy Freedom Wars (without the BS bosses of FW)
+ Lots of clipping but everything is so pretty and shiny it rather reminds me of Bloodborne when your clothes get glossy
+ Your choices also matter…mostly
+ Kirito isn't as much of a…well, you know, like he is in the anime. He feels more like a genuinely skilled hero who's not a Mary Sue and being friends with him is kinda neat.
+ Story is pretty good.
+ Can model your pet AI to be a lot of styles, either male or female, and they adapt to your orders or you can set behavior (basically the android from Freedom Wars but this time with an actual character and personality, and relevance to the plot)
+ Gun variety

Maybe, but while I do like it when a work with a rediculous premise sticks the landing without taking itself too seriously I also appreciate when that, when they do actually go for a serious story, they stick to it without flailing. Fatal Bullet isn't great but it is respectable (at least for an SAO game; it's still no .Hack).

For as supposedly good as the japs have gotten at writting characters, you can pretty much NEVER have a weak main protagonist. They can have small windows of vulnerability, or a small few paragraphs were they arent god, but those exceptions aside, you will never have a jap-made protagonist who isnt a total complete normie, especially in an isekai series, since those are targetted towards young jap males who have by FAR the SHITTIEST taste in literally EVERYTHING.

People thought that's what it was, but there was always something unique about the story of the games where fatality was actually kept in the universe somehow.

Well, I would guess that the best choice for that would be the debt collectors, the towns bureaucracy, and big threat mobs would probably be the antagonists. Though the bureaucracy would probably only show up occasionally, the big threat mobs would be more occasional until he reaches the peak and fights one of the hard mobs, so I guess debt collectors would be the most likely antagonist. Maybe the ending could change to be one of the orphans is the supposed hero to say the day, and he has to fight one of the big band's generals to keep the kid safe, it would end with the kid bring sent off to prepare to be a hero. Though having the antagonist be the demon lord is a bit overdone.

There isn't much of a story from the 2 volumes I've read. It's more like random adventures and events that happens as the MC tries to settle down in that world. It seems to rely more on world building and I'm enjoying it. Like how the series is quick to show it has slavery. While the MC is against it, he pulls some strings to gain ownership of the girls instead of just setting them free and thinking the problem is over like a moron. It also explains certain things in the view of a person playing a RPG and I think it does a nice job at it.
It just got an anime but I don't know if it's good or accurate to the manga/LN. For reference, I'm reading the manga.
