Fun fact: the composer can't read music notes but never got fired and went on to compose music for Armored Core. That's why it's always a jumble mess of electronics.

I've owned it for years. Remember only playing a couple of hours back in the day and quitting when I stepped on a trap and it destroyed the boots I just upgraded. Recall it being enjoyable enough before I threw a bitch fit.. Should probably try it again.

It's one of their earliest games and it shows. A lot of the gameplay is clunky and some design decisions are silly but other parts are interesting and you can see things that would go into their later games that improved upon what they did in Evergrace.

One of the earliest they made for the PS2, sure (alongside Eternal Ring). But if you mean one of FromSoft's earliest games in general, they had been putting out games since King's Field (JP) in 1994, and Evergrace was six years and like eleven or twelve games later.
