I think the reason why Xbone was left out is because Microsoft deliberately goes for a different audience with the PS4/Switch/PC. Microsoft tends to focus on more action oriented, realistic games (like Forza and Assassin's Creed) in their advertising, with their more cartoonish selections like Super Lucky's Tale and Cuphead sticking out like a sore thumb. The PS4 has that marketing tactic that they can push stylized games like Persona 5 and Ni No Kuni in it's advertising ALONG with their more realistic games like God of War and Horizon: Of the Wild. Nintendo already has that edge on more family oriented games. like Zelda, Splatoon and Mario, yet has been slowly pushing more towards advertising games like FIFA and NBA 2K more and more under their new advertising shift towards college-aged gamers and the such.Those are my two cents on the subject however

Do you think the current team knows how to make a game like Crash while also being good? There's issues with the optimization on nearly every platform, poor culling of resources, issues with offscreen drawing that murders the framerate on nearly everything.
Crunch being every boss was added nearly last minute. Which is why nearly every boss is a stage hazard in the Bonus Warp room
Alpha mapping is incomplete, which while it kind of gets away with on really low resolution screens it gets badly apparent in emulation, and it's contested but apparently the game is missing 4 warp rooms worth of planned levels.

Gran Autismo is fucking garbage though, and it's so far up it's own ass with pretending to be a sim (when it's not) that it forgets that you're supposed to be having fun. Also, it's always online garbage. If you don't have an internet connection, you can't even save your game. They also sold it in a bundle with their VR helmet, but the VR mode is just a few demo races on a few select tracks, with a few select cars, against a single AI opponent that's trying to keep their Geiko Safe Driving bonus. It's a proof of concept demo sold as a feature.
There's no sense of speed or fun to be had. You really would be better off just getting Forza Horizon 3, or really any other racing game at this point.

The cross media bar (PS3's UI) was a hot mess, and I remember firing up the Playstation store on my PS3 and instead of anything video game related, I saw a giant Old Spice ad. If you really wanted to point out one of the nastiest things that's actually new to modern consoles, look at the Facebookization of the current gen. I don't know about the Bone since I don't have one or know anyone who does, but I have relatives with PS4s, and I was disgusted to see the system displaying not the person's online nickname but their REAL FUCKING NAME at the top of the screen, and I was told that the system makes you fill in your real name as part of the PSN. I don't give a fuck how many normalfags will love it since it lets them find their normalfag friends easier, but I was raised in an age where Rule 1 of the internet was "NEVER give out any personal information of any kind." I'm getting sick of companies wanting a god damn DNA sample just to turn on the fucking system.

Honestly, I prefer Forza Horizon over GT. The combination of the slightly more forgiving physics, and the absolutely COMFY atmosphere, I can't get enough. Even though Australia in 3 was a bit of a downgrade to Italy in 2, I still have a great time. Few other games can make me pick up an older title just to drive around with the radio on, and talk with an old friend who lives out of state. We watched fireworks together for the first time in years, and it was in a fucking video game, man. Open world racers are the best.

you can literally fuck off after the first mission and drive anywhere in the (0.1x Sized) USA. First thing I did was drive straight to Vegas, spent about 100 hours before I learned you can use the airports and trains for fast travel.
I just wish there were a way to turn off the mini-challenges. they let you upgrade your car to max level with enough grinding without doin story missions and shit, but its still fuckin annoying when youre just tryin to chill cause theyre scattered all over the fuckin map. The DLC aint too worth it either. I enjoyed the Monster Trucks and thats about it. the cop shit sucks ass

It doesn't help that Microsoft literally hasn't advertised the Xbox One in Japan a day in it's life. At best, they just get the commercials made for western audiences with Japanese subtitles. Microsoft puts more effort into advertising their fucking Azure cloud servers specifically for Japan than they do the Xbox.
Which is really fucking baffling to me, because MS actually has a rich history of making up OS-tan anime girls to advertise their operating systems, software, and services. Why the hell wouldn't they make an official Xbox-tan?
I mean, it's really not as hard as people make it out to be. Part of the reason why the 360 did as well as it did over there was because they served a niche that Sony thought the PS3 was too good for - namely bullet hell games. That's all MS needs - a semi-popular genre that the PS4 isn't adequately service in order to get a niche following, and then expand out from there once their foot is in the door. Visual Novels would be perfect. Open it up for indie development and push the envelope in regards to nudity and content. Shit, throw a bit of cash their way to jump-start development - maybe even use their influence to get some deals with major IP holders. Get the Xbox to be known as the place nips go to get their dating sims, and once the console is in people's homes, then push for a broader category of Japanese games.

Crash 1 can take passwords but can also take saves.
Also, Crash 3 will take forever for a normal person to get all the relics, which is way harder than 100%ing Crash 1. The relics added to 1 and 2 in the trilogy make that point moot though. And they really made it seem like the levels in 1 were designed for time trials even though they weren't a feature in the game. All the cycles and stuff line up really well in that way where it actually sorta becomes easier if you're going really fast, like a lot of old NES games did.

IIRC The first boss is a rollerball duel in a bowl, the second is a platforming challenge where you jump across platforms and dodge stuff as you go, the third is one of those stages where you run toward the screen only now you're also fighting a boss, the fourth is an airplane fight like N. Gin in Warped, and the fifth is the only one that sounds remotely like you describe, but the final boss having elements from the previous bosses makes sense.
