I admit I was insecure about getting my first fig but I wanted one after seeing it online for a while and see how I would react after spending so much money on a plastic statue. Once I got it, all the cringe went away and I realized I was being insecure for no reason. That opened the flood gates for all the other stuff I slowly transitioned into. More figurines, actually buying manga in bulk, importing games, shopping for R-18 material at comiket, getting into ASMR. It was a slow transition but I don't regret it one bit. Mind you, I had plenty of money to blow and nothing worth putting my money into as I'm already saving up and manage money pretty well while supporting some relatives.

Back in the 80s or early 90s, in this one bar, they had a game table with pong on it. Coming out of the top of the table, about 18" from the joystick, was a metal rod. In order to play, you and a friend had to grasp the metal rod and duel. Each time you got scored on, you would receive an electric shock that got progressively worse, and lasted longer, depending on how badly you were losing. If you let go of the handle, your joystick cut out and you lost. The game continued until one of you quit do to pain, there was no set score you had to reach. It was awesome, I just wish I knew what it was called, or where to find it. It was very similar to your painstation video, except with electricity, not that gay flogging mechanism.
