Guess what, dps players didn't like that their 2 seconds of glory could be gone for missusing this ability (instead of waiting so this character is dead to use those ultimates).
So Blizzard goes and reworks the character, makes so that shield-eating ability is only 2 seconds long (only stopping 1/3 of an ultimate), and gives her missiles to compensate.
So they take a tank and make it another dps WITH 500 HEALTH POINTS.
And what did this accomplish? You guessed it
Now dps cry because this tank has too much health and does too much damage

I think the big difference is those were server based. And you could read the rules when you joined.
So if you are overly sensitive and you join a server that allows free speech, you can simply leave right away and find a place that suits you better.
From what Ive seen of Overwatch they usually do that really shitty thing where you join a random lobby with strangers. Which I think comes from console gaming? Interestingly TF2s community got much worse when they added that same feature.
In my view its about having places for everyone to play the game. Without putting the easily offended in the same server with the offensive.
I also think a big part of why TF2 player base was much less toxic is that it was actually a fun interesting game.
People were more focused on the gameplay and tactics.
