Now I'd like to know what kind of mods would be recommended for enhacing the experience.

I would highly recommend "a world of pain" plus the voices mod for it,adds some fun new places to explore,you need to be high level for em though.

Obviously get the someguy series quests. Bounty hunter quests I mean. Called New Vegas bounties IIRC, there's 1, 2 , & 3, and a few other side ones. One of the best imo is a side one called new vegas contract killer, which has you choose the "bad choice" and expands on it. Webm related.

There's also tales of new reno. Not everything is voice acted but its pretty good.

There's also an anatomy of disaster, which similarly is not fully voice acted but a good, pretty long quest.

Also, check out Jokerine on the Fallout New Vegas nexus, shes made a bunch of stuff, including data packs, dance animations and quests, all of which are also voice acted IIRC. I'm actually a pretty big fan of her christmas mod for vegas.

There's EVE, which expands on Energy weapons, and its effects. Also look for GunCaliberX, which REALLY FUCKING EXPANDS on bullets, types of bullets, and actually showing the casings of your rounds on the ground for every shot you fire, so after a massive battle you can look down and see your bullet casings fucking everywhere.

There's first person perspective which lets you see your body in first person when you look down.

I'm tired of writing mods that come to mind though. There used to be a wiki for a bunch of good mods that I and other anons used to post but I have no fucking clue where I saved the link anymore.

Willow is overpowered though, she just fucking nails every hostile the moment she gets her rifle back. She is still a great mod overall, though, I like all the cool shit that comes with her, from the deluxe motel to the extra dog and quests.

As for actual mods, I'd like to know what's the best when it comes to recoil and spread mods to make the guns feel less like shit.

So far, I've tried mixing "iron sights recoil removal" with "real recoil" and Deus Ex Weapon spread". It's definitely an improvement, but i feel like there's something better out there.

I liked the jsawyer mod. There are mods that add conventional weapons, there's weapon mods expanded too. Also that one mod that lets you renovate the Primm Casino.

I was asking this because the ranged combat feels horrible in vanilla. Weapons kick like shit and are generally not precise because of the spread stat, even at 100 weapons.

The worst must be the SMGs and automatics, they feel so sluggish and irresponsive, especially when you chain bursts. I always end up using the sniper rifles, from the varmint to the BMG because at least I know I can hit something with it. It's a shame.

You probably don't have enough strength then, in tandem with your guns skill. Your strength still needs to be above the recommended amount to prevent all recoil and missing.

Unlikely, I always put enough in strength for most weapons. It's just that it feels like you have a very small cooldown after you stop firing an automatic that prevents you from shooting, and you can't burst or tap like you would in other FPSs like S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

I know that an auto should be fired full-auto, but with so much spread, even when aiming down sights, I'd rather use a pistol or a shotgun for short-to-middle range combat (there's even great mod for shotguns too, if you feel like they don't hit hard enough called the 00 commando, it's really good).

Independent ending is the best.

House is a relic of the old world; convinced of his immortality from limitless resources, yet unable to see the danger he helped create. If it wasn’t Benny, it would be you. If it wasn’t you, it would be the next guy. Power is easier to take than earn.

Caesar is an okay alternative, but leaks at the seams. His empire will likely collapse on itself when he dies and everyone will return to banditry or their tribes.

NCR is a war machine with no state, about as useful as a car with no brakes. Once again humanity gets the bootprint to the face.

The best solution is to accept the return to the stone age. Give humanity a chance to undiscover war and greed.

Gave this a shot and I'm really not seeing the appeal of Dust, maybe in a better game with non-shitty gunplay the idea of taking an existing world and turning it into a horror wasteland with nothing in it but things trying to kill you would be cool but in New Vegas it's boring and mostly frustrating thanks to the retarded combat. Nothing more fun then seeing a cannibal and trying to take them out quickly only for them to walk off a headshot because fuck you that's why.

Is there any way to help alleviate the constant crashing of Fallout NV?

I've already got CASM, NVAC, and a couple other utilities, but it's STILL constantly unstable.

I get, at best, an hour or two out of it before it decides to crash or hang on a loading screen. It's really aggravating.

Did you disable autosaving? Also, are you using YUP for bug fixes? Another thing - avoid fast traveling as much as possible. The game (for me, atleast) hates trying to load the openworld over and over.

Shit, maybe that's it. I thought CASM disabled autosaving on its own… I'll try that.

Fast traveling is really just too convenient to not use all the time, the game has a lot of empty space, despite how genuinely small the gameworld actually is. I'll try and keep it to a minimum though.

I'm pretty sure I have YUP, but i'll download it again and see if that helps.

CASM only adds that intermittent saving and enables more than 100 saves. If you don't have autosaves turned off, they really fuck up your game. This isn't a rushed development thing either, this is because Bethesda's engine is so shit, autosaving corrupts your data.

I had to restart an entire character and I was right at the end too. I forgot to turn autosave off so my file started to always crash at the entrance gate to Lanius' camp.

Avoid using incompatible mod. Also, is your active plugin amount over 140? Vegas has a soft cap of 140, where the game starts crashing and fucking up if you go over it.
