>late 90s DOS/early Windows first-person 3D RPG/Action game on Win98
>Game was rendered in SVGA and looked rather impressive by software rendering standards, with a similar level of fidelity as the Blood games
>You start in a small maze-like garden with an orange/yellow evening sky, a fountain, bench and some rather impressive looking bushes
>After picking up a key on the ground somewhere you can then enter open a gate which leads to the castle
>Following a loading screen it puts you in front of the castle, inside the castle is a scary skeleton and a set of stairs leading down to a corridor
>You can punch the skeleton to death and pick up his weapon(a sword or dagger I think), then go down the stairs(I think they were hidden below a trapdoor with a switch somewhere)
>Once you set foot in the corridor, a giant cockroach/bug will run towards and instakill you at sanic speeds(which is as far as I ever got)
What's notable about this gemu compared to all the other DOS RPGs and FPSers is that I can't remember any sort of permament UI at the bottom or side of the screen.
With the exception of a popout inventory at the side and your fists/weapon at the bottom when clicking the left mouse button the entire screen was more or less unobstructed.
The cockroach was a textured 3D model with spindly legs, when you got hit the screen would flash red and dying resulted in the camera falling to the ground(similar to Doom and other first person shooters of the time).
