Bungie redesigned the weapons. Instead of a slot for pistols, pulse rifles and machine guns, a slot for snipers, shotguns and fusion rifles and a heavy slot for rocket launchers or swords now theres 'power' 'kinectic' and 'heavy'.
Basically they took the best pvp stuff and put it all in heavy which is the rare ammo that drops in small amounts. Energy was guns with elements and kinect was the same without and more damage.
It turned out fucked and people would stick to what worked so they implemented D1's juggle system from hard dungeons all the time without telling people.
Basically yuo like a weapon and use it more and its ammo drops less and less so the game trains you to swap as they wanted but they dont tell you this system was brought back and just claimed 'people love swapping constantly' when they designed it so you have no choice and treat it like a player choice to show how good their design was.
Basically lying to the players to lie to themselves because their qa is trash.
