Boiling Point: Road to Hell. Open world sandbox shooter with inventory management, trading, faction system, and vehicle driving. It's basically sandbox Delta Force or Deus Ex with slightly better gunplay.

BTW, Need for Speed has better driving mechanics since that was actually the point of the game. Does that make NFS a better game than Boiling Point? Or are you gonna start judging mechanics based on the type of game instead?

And regardless of shitty you are at analysing games, if an open world with better gunplay is all you care about (which means you're a fucking retard for playing Deus Ex expecting that), you are better off with Metal Gear Solid 5 anyway. Better open world and better gunplay than Boiling Point too.

Different types of builds that play uniquely

pretty great character development where instead of grinding kills for XP, you get flat rewards for accomplishing tasks

amazing storytelling with an interesting plot and unique characters,

great character progression that reinforced exploring the world by giving you unique bonus like canisters or extra XP for finishing other tasks

Talking with other characters unlocks extra options toprogress in the game or complete a mission in a different way in a very organic manner.

No need for Evil\Good axis to dictate or limit your choices.

The story isn't a simple Evil\Good plot, it has it's ramifications and complex plots.

Building your character with augs\skills matters far more than player skill in shooting.

Honestly, I have no idea why you'd simply call it "mediocre" or with what you're comparing it to.

Maybe the lack of a party or extra companions but that's not a requirement for an RPG.

It was essentially an ealier VtmB with augs instead of Disciplines and some more weapon variety.

I really liked this game as a teen. Yeah whatever it came out like more than 10 years ago now. I came back to it not long ago, I really liked the gunporn and the infuriating quest line. I completed the questline for the mafia.

I came back to it two years ago or so but the engine looked completely fucked up to me now. Maybe it was the fov, or the buggy sound, it wasn't that great now.
